I am delighted to announce that we have confirmed our brand new Journal Editor team for the Wales Journal of Education: Gary Beauchamp from Cardiff Metropolitan University, Thomas Crick from Swansea University, and Enlli Thomas from Bangor University.

Our new Journal Editors bring with them a wealth of educational experience. Each has a strong track record in educational research, and with their collective expertise, passion, and pioneering mindset, I am extremely excited for the next chapter of the journal.

Our Journal Editors are now actively seeking new contributions for Spring 2021. Remember, as the journal is now platinum Open Access, thanks to support from Welsh Government, there are no charges to read or to contribute to the journal, and you can do so in Welsh and/or English. Our Journal Editors are keen to hear from researchers and practitioners who have contributions to make – please get in touch via our colleague, Chris Richards, to find out more (chris.richards@press.wales.ac.uk), or take a look at our Wales Journal of Education journal page.

And there are more exciting developments to come…

  • Later this month (May 2020), the first Open Access, bilingual issue publishes. This is a special bumper issue on Initial Teacher Education (ITE) available in digital format (free access), and a printed version will be available for purchase.
  • Over the coming weeks, our Editorial Board, a crucial body supporting the journal, will be announced. Soon after, our Advisory Board will be announced.
  • Stay tuned to learn more about our practitioner-led aspects of the journal. We’d be delighted to hear from anyone who would like to learn more about this exciting new direction.
